With his international education (New York University and University of Ghana) and 20 years+ experience as a social entrepreneur, Samuel knows how to lead groups. Not just our local manager, but also the director of the Kumasi Institute of Tropical Agriculture.

Tim van Koolwijk

Production Specialist

Founder of Alga.farm; a Dutch company that has been into spirulina production for over 10 years. Enriches our team with a great amount of expertise. 

Ruben Bun

Head of Operations

Our supply chain specialist. Developed his skills at purpose-driven companies like Seepje, Pieter Pot and The Good Roll. Maximizing positive impact in our operations.

Emmanuel Benyin

Facility Manager

Nicknamed 'Engineer' by most people who know him, which makes sense, since he is a plumber, electrician, construction worker and designer at the same time. Graduated in Electrical Engineering at Kumasi Technical University.

Nii Ayi Ankrah

Data Collection & Quality Control

Our date analyst and quality control specialist. Has a solid foundation in molecular biology & biotechnology. With over four years of experience, he has contributed to numerous projects across Ghana.

Local Relations Officer

Dedicated staff member of the Kumasi Institute of Tropical Agriculture, bringing fresh perspectives and a passion for people. Knows the surrounding communities like nobody else.

Francis Dadzie Mintah

Data Collection & Quality Control

Francis enriches our team with a great amount of local experience. Over the past 9 years, Francis has been active in 50+ projects in Ghana, leaving his mark on diverse fronts such as agriculture, mining, climate change, and food security.

Floris Zevenbergen

Founder & General Manager

Founder with a passion for making positive impact. While studying both economics & law at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, he started a sustainability-focused company in the corporate gifting industry, which he later sold. In 2023, he started Chalé Spirulina.

The Kumasi Institute of Tropical Agriculture (KITA) is at the forefront of agricultural consultancy for local projects since 1984. They are familiar with several communities around Kumasi and assist us in the local communication and the development/maintenance of production sites.

Alga.farm is located in Rotterdam and cultivates fresh spirulina using highly efficient photobioreactors. With over ten years of experience and multiple international projects, they have extensive expertise in spirulina production. In collaboration with alga.farm, we designed an efficient bioreactor that is fully tailored to the Ghanaian climate.
