Patricia Korneh

Food Safety Expert

Studied Food Science & Technology at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. During her studies, she worked as a quality control specialist at both Ghananuts Company and the Ghana Cocoa Board. Patricia is in charge of controlling and improving the food safety protocols at our production facility.

Emmanuel Benyin works as a Facility Manager at Chalé Spirulina

Emmanuel Benyin

Facility Manager

Studied Electricial Engineering at the Kumasi Technical University. After graduating, he worked at the Kumasi Institute of Tropical Agriculture for more than 5 years, where he helped setting up over 20 local agricultural projects. With his practical skills and strong local network, he is the perfect person to lead day-to-day operations at our proof-of-concept facility.

Ruben Bun is the head of operations at Chalé Spirulina.

Studied Global Business & Sustainability at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. After graduating, he gained experience in the operations departments at Pieter Pot, The Good Roll, and Seepje. Currently, Ruben lives in Kumasi permanently to lead the operations of our Ghanaian entity, which is focused on the production of our spirulina.

Gideon Ashirifi works as a Microbiologist at Chalé Spirulina

Gideon Ashirifi

Microbiologist

Studied Agricultural Biotechnology at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. During his studies, he worked as a laboratory research assistant at the CSIR Research Institute. Gideon focuses on optimizing the growth and quality of our spirulina.

Floris Zevenbergen works as Head of Finance & Sales at Chalé Spirulina

Floris Zevenbergen

Head of Finance & Sales

Studied Financial Economics at the Erasmus University Rotterdam. During his studies, he set up a company specialized in sustainable corporate gifts. After selling the company to a competitor, Floris started Chalé Spirulina. Currently, Floris is based in the Netherlands, where he focuses on both finance and sales.

The Kumasi Institute of Tropical Agriculture bridges the gap between Chalé and local communities.

The Kumasi Institute of Tropical Agriculture (KITA) is at the forefront of agricultural consultancy for local projects since 1984. They are familiar with several communities around Kumasi and assist us in the local communication and the development/maintenance of production sites.

Our collaboration with Alga.farm ensures efficient production of the best quality spirulina.

Alga.farm is located in Den Hoorn and cultivates fresh microalgae using highly efficient photobioreactors. With over ten years of experience and multiple international projects, they have extensive expertise in spirulina production. In collaboration with alga.farm, we designed an efficient bioreactor that is fully tailored to the Ghanaian climate.
